It remains to be seen how the Lock Tavern will cope with being crowned king of cool during the rehabilitation of the fire-damaged Hawley Arms; it's already a hard enough place to get into at weekends, what with queues of artfully distressed rock urchins and one of the most arbitrary entry policies in Camden Town. And though it teems with aesthetic niceties inside - from cosy black couches and warm wood panelling downstairs to open-air terrace on the first floor - it's the unpredictable after-party vibe that packs in the punters, with big name DJs regularly providing the tunes.

Visited for the 1st time last week and I fell in love with the quirky interiors. It was full of shabby chic furniture, old curiosities, big lamps, and cool photos of the staff apparently. Took a few ideas home with me.
Good selection of beer on tap (including Fruili my favourite!) and we both had the big burger which was juicy with incredible skins on chips.
It did get a little over crowd later on inside but most of them moved into the cavneous beer garden which was a God send.
Will most definately be back when I am in the area.
I suppose pretention doesn't relax on Sunday. It must be such hard work looking cool that customers are just a mere inconvinence.
When going out at midday for what used to be a chilled out lunch on Sunday with the family seemed like too much to ask for. Call ur self a pub?
Food was undercooked and the staffs attitude was most certainly overdone.
