Perhaps it's the draw of the wonderful beer selection (over 100 Belgian beers, 17 beers on tap, including Delirium Tremens 9%, Belle-Vue Kriek and Früli, at least four real ales and guest beers), but the popularity of this place is beginning to divide its customers. Fans love the cosy candlelit nooks, the board games, the vibe and the extensive menu (own-made burgers, sausages with mash, huge Sunday roasts and pub glasses of chips), while detractors have experienced overbearing (even rude) staff and found the food underwhelming. We've experienced both, and hope that what was once Hackney's finest regains its crown.

Hmmm. I find this whole writing about myself pretty difficult. I think one of the most attractive qualities in a person is modesty but I guess that...

This pub is fab. Went there the other day ans discovered the games shelf. Even saw people bringing in their own chess sets. How civilised. Of course they have great Belgian beer, which is strong so be careful.
I had the credit cruch beef stew at a fiver with bread. A bargain !
I love the Dove. It has really improved towards the end last year. We had great Christmas lunch there with two disabled mates. One of the only pubs in Hackney/Broadway market where all are welcome and access easy. Food especially burgers highly recommended.
