London's best review, food and drink news
A big square room with a bar on the right, open kitchen straight ahead, flags of all nations tacked to the ceiling and, yes, rarely unemployed foosball tables under TVs that silently screen international football. Cool and excellently boisterous, Kick takes enough of a hint from European cafés (quality food, a curated selection of drinks) to draw in nearly as many women as men. Super Bock stout stood out among the bottles, but there was plenty for non-beerheads on the lists of cocktails and wine. Busy staff remain calm and friendly under the onslaught of twirl-crazed party groups. Good for a big night out, but also no slouch for a swift one with just a couple of friends.
