This is a huge Fuller's pub, right on the main drag and almost large enough to have its own microclimate. Due to its size and location, it attracts a mixed bunch of drinkers - locals, labourers, shoppers, couples, families - and the selection of food and drinks is designed to please all-comers.
There's the full Fuller's ale range, for a start, with Pride, ESB, Chiswick and Discovery supplemented by seasonals such as Spring Sprinter. Fuller's have branded the place an 'Ale & Pie House', which should give you an idea what you might find on the food menu.
The pub has a portrait of King George, in whose honour the pub was renamed in the 1820s. However, it opened a half-century earlier, when it traded as the Boston Arms.
