Sexy and sassy, surprisingly so given its location in ever-demure Ealing (weary shoppers laden with bags will be an incongruous feature of a daytime visit), the Lodge has a wooden cabin feel, at least if wooden cabins were fitted out with DJ decks and staffed by experienced cocktail mixers.

The drinks list has been compiled with bravery and exuberance: a Citron Cosmopolitan features Absolut Citron, Triple Sec, cranberry juice, lime juice and flamed orange peel, while a Blueberry Amaretto Sour blends Disarrono with blueberry purée, lemon juice, sugar and optional egg white; and orange marmalade, red bell peppers and rhubarb jam are not items you expect to find on too many cocktail menus in town.

Beer-wise, the Lodge stocks Zywiec and Moretti by the bottle; DJs and occasional live acts provide the soundtrack.

Tortoise and very Poor Service - Rude staff - Incoherent Racist Manager who pretends he is so important - A real Dumbo in a nutshell.

I was passing through Ealing and decided to stop for a drink with a girl at about 1030pm Sunday. We had to wait for half an hour to get served at the bar as there was only a dude serving and he seems he has forgotten his head in the toilet ! As I was driving, I had a Schweppes tonic water and my friend had a glass of wine.

We decided to go out to sit as there were about 12 peeps outside drinking and free benches. Shortly after, a little staff girl came to us and asked us to go inside as 'people are not allowed to do so after 11pm'. We politely went in but realized she did not ask the others to do so. I said to her when inside what about the others ... she went out, talked to them and came back hurriedly and disappeared in sight. Well, we went out and continue out drinks. She came out to us again and threatened up to take our drinks if we did not go in. And, when confronted with the 'double rules', she ran away and sought the manager who came out like a bull with his bullshit. He grabbed our unfinished drinks which we paid and ordered us to leave the premises. I politely asked why the double standards, may be it was a racist thing, he came out with a lame excuse that 'tables are reserved' which again is in total contradiction with earlier excuses 'no drinking outside after 11pm' and 'these people are staff'.

In short, if you prefer a dump with slow and poor service, rude staff, dumbo manager, racist attitudes, drinks grabber, double customers standards, dirty glasses, look no further head for the THE LODGE in Ealing. You will get plenty of those ;)

Recently moved to Ealing and already established the Lodge as my local.
Great cosy atmosphere during the week, staff is lovely (though the girls are a bit cold), standard beer selection, wine list more than decent and cocktails are just delicious!!
Nice beer garden with a rocking bench, food is tasty and reasonably priced, though there's room for improvement.
You can also squat a corner with your laptop without being too bothered by the noise.
Beware that it gets much livelier towards the weekend. When I took my flatmate for dinner on a Saturday evening, it suddenly got much darker and louder with a "cheesy" RnB DJ behind the decks and tables were moved away to make room for dancing...
