This lounge bar-restaurant atop Waterstone's has injected irony into its cocktail selection. Among the selections, a Dusty Springfield of vodka, fresh apple juice and vanilla syrup is described as 'sultry, fruity, sour and tortured - like the singer', while the My Man Godfrey Vodkatini is 'our own little homage to David Niven'.
Quality base spirits are used throughout: Grey Goose or Ketel One for the poured-at-your-table martinis, for instance. Wine-wise, you'll find 10 by bottle and glass; there's a similar number of bottled beers, including Timothy Taylor Landlord and London Pride; and the day menu features a variety of antipasti.
Avert your gaze from the 40 years of Booker Prize winners on the walls and you'll be able to make out the Houses of Parliament from your low, brown-leather, two-person sofa.
