Gin's quite the thing again these days. And though it might not return to an eighteenth century heyday that took five major acts of parliament to persuade the sodden to call time, a host of new distilleries have opened across town. This one, in the City, doubles as a bar.
If you're drinking, a few of the distillery's copper stills provide the centrepiece in a subterranean bar with more than a whiff of the speakeasy about. The dapper staff serve a range of drinks but the focus is, of course, on gin, with City of London gin featuring prominently on a list chock full of G&Ts and classic gin cocktails. Wines, beers and Champagnes are available, too.
There are experiences also on offer, such as distillery tours, tasting sessions, gin flight taster tours and a gin 'lab' experience where visitors can distill their own gin. And if you really get a taste for the stuff? There's a shop on site with bottles to take home.
