London Fields Lido is closing all winter for repairs

Bad news for east London bathers – London Fields Lido is going to be closed from the end of November until next spring for 'urgent repairs'.

If you've been there for a dip lately you may have noticed that there were some strange barriers on the side after the tiles had started to crack due to issues with the stone between the pool tank and the tiles. So Hackney Council is closing it to sort that out and while they're at it, they're going to 'modernise' the facilities, giving the changing rooms and reception area a revamp. This will be a blow to those regular swimmers (like me) who love an outdoor winter swim in the heated water *sobs*.

Members will be able to swim for free at all Better pools including Britannia, Clissold, Kings Hall Leisure Centres, London Aquatics Centre and Charlton Lido, or freeze their membership until London Fields Lido reopens.
