Alp Haydar's 'one-man pantomimes' are unique fusions of green-screen CGI animation, puppyish audience rapport, outrageously exuberant sexuality and affecting emotional narrative, setting explorations of gay Muslim identity against a backdrop of disaster-movie set-ups, pervy robots and the ruins of Atlantis. Think modern vs conservative, pride vs shame, Shirley Bassey vs Allah… Those who haven't yet caught up with Haydar's cycle of video-interactive fantasy-adventure stories - in which he plays all the roles, including himself, his monstrous mother and his smouldering Islamist boyfriend - now have a chance to catch up with this double bill of his last two shows, 'Alp Haydar's Flight 666 to Bermuda' and 'Alp Haydar's Erotic Adventures in Atlantis'. A bargain at twice the price.
