There have arguably never been cabaret shows quite like Alp Haydar's 'one-man pantomimes'. Mixing nod-and-a-wink crooning with outlandishly ambitious interactive video work, they tackle intensely personal subjects through exuberantly fantastical settings, managing to be at once crowd-pleasing and thought-provoking, moving and hilarious. 'New Vagina' picks up where 'Erotic Adventures in Atlantis' left off, with Alp going to increasingly radical lengths to win back the love of his amnesiac jihadi lover. Needless to say, the influence of the nefarious Sharia Law is rarely far away… From gruesome pastiche noir to greenscreen despair, this is Alp's most emotionally gruelling show yet – but also perhaps the most formally ambitious and as full of beans as ever. This catch-up show leads into the new follow-up, 'Alp Haydar's Sharia Law', playing on July 19 and 26.
