Time Out says

This 'multi-sensory clubbing experience' allows clubbers to smell, taste and see the music, which includes D&B DJ sets and live gypsy jazz.

Originally started three years ago as a clubbing event geared towards deaf and hearing-impaired clubbers, brilliantly innovative concept party Sencity angles itself as 'the world's first multi-sensory clubbing experience'. What this means is that as DJs and live bands provide the tunes, you'll be able to see, smell and taste the music as it's played. What this means is that a 'sense composer' looks at the set-list and matches the feel of the music with smells pumped into the room, special lighting effects, a vibrating dancefloor that responds to the bass frequency of the music, and food served at specific times to complement certain sonic moods. It's a two-day event. Friday's line-up is a D&B showcase, with sets from Grooverider and Fabio going back-to-back, plus Hybrid Minds, Bryan Gee, DJ Bailey and a big headline set from breaks and electro crew Utah Jazz. Saturday focuses more on live music, presented by gypsy funk-loving crew Rumpus. Acts include Perhaps Contraption, Rumpsteppers, Barking Bateria and DJ Kobayashi. It's a fascinating idea for a club night that also promises to be a lot of fun.
