Sam Fletcher received a Foster's Best Newcomer nomination at last year's Edinburgh Fringe for his charmingly lo-fi debut solo show. The nerdy, bespeckled comic is modest and self-deprecating in his delivery of terrible 'dad' jokes, sloppy magic tricks and flipchart drawings. There are some inspired moments – his 'Shoes' song is a particular highlight and his obsession with keeping things tied to string, mittens-style, is a nice through-line (no pun intended). There's plenty to enjoy in 'Good on Paper', and I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of Sam Fletcher.
