A new summer festival in Hyde Park, now that Wireless and Hard Rock Calling have moved over to the former Olympic Park. Barclaycard sponsorship means plenty of cash handy for booking expensive talent, and for this date they've splashed out on the most pricey band going: The Rolling Stones, back for two more big gigs in the park where they last played in 1969 – to an audience of 250,000, for free.

Balancing out the moss-gathering Stones at their first BST gig are young bands The Vaccines and The Temper Trap, plus solo artists Gary Clark Jr and King Charles. Other stages feature even more (surprisingly credible) new talent, including Palma Violets, Temples, The Boxer Rebellion, Tribes, Drenge, Gabriel Bruce, Splashh and Loom.

Main support for the second date so far consists of two meteorically-rising singer-songwriters: Tom Odell and Jake Bugg. There'll be innovative noises from The Horrors and Public Service Broadcasting, and more Stones-appropriate sounds by The 1975, Vintage Trouble, Adam Cohen and more.
