  • In this live-action adventure, Mowgli (Scott Lee) is five before he's jungle-bred. The animals act like animals, sort of, which means that Mowgli wrestles with Baloo the bear, tumbles with wolves, but doesn't discuss philosophy with 'em. He swims ...

Who wanted a Disney remake of ‘The Jungle Book’? No one. Especially not one combining CGI with a real-life boy. But forget about your worries – this new version is the jungle VIP. Director Jon Favreau hasn’t monkeyed around, dipping into the 1967 ...

With dynamite timing and outrageous threads, Ryan Gosling is a blast in this action-comedy from genre veteran Shane Black (‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’, ‘Iron Man 3’). Sharply crafted but still laid back – and hilarious from the off – Black’s buddy-buddy...

A little orphan girl is snatched from her bed late at night by a big-hearted vegetarian giant and whisked off to an unwelcoming land of over-sized cannibals in Roald Dahl's much-cherished 1982 book 'The BFG'. For this movie version, aimed squarely...

This follow-up to Tim Burton’s 2010 ‘Alice in Wonderland’ brings back most of the same team (though Burton has stepped back to be a producer), and the same high-energy and bucketful of 3D digital effects approach. Mia Wasikowska returns as the emi...

There’s a wince-inducing scene in the middle of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ that says just about everything you need to know about this sprawling superheroic mess. It’s 1983, and a group of teenage mutants walk out of a screening of ‘Return of the Jedi’, ...

The Greenwich Odeon isn't what it used to be. Whilst it has the same (large) no. of screens and snacks available to purchase, the cinema has become slightly rundown and poorly kept. The staff are very young and service isn't what it used to be. The Ben and Jerry's stall has a number of tiny fruit flies flying around relentlessly and this seems to go unnoticed. The staff are too busy chatting to offer satisfactory service and the overall experience isn't as good. However, the screens are nice and spacious and there are plenty of seats. So if you want a cinema with more room and choice of screenings, it's still the place to go.
