I went after seeing the article in the TimeOut mag the other week. It's very cosy and pretty and I love the concept! Staff were very warm and friendly too which made for a great experience. Going back on new years eve

Standing out a mile from its standard-issue-salon neighbours, retro grooming spot The Parlour offers a bundle of cosmetic services in a gloriously girly setting. Jacqueline and her team of retro stylists offer updos, boho braids and blowdries that will give you polish without looking too done – unless that’s what you’d like, of course.
Owner Jacqueline Fletcher is from Boston, and there is an Americanness about the hospitality and attention to detail here – from the delicate cakes handmade each morning by Jacqueline herself, to the flawless 50s hairstyles sported by the stylists every day.
Visitors can sip on cocktails as they choose between a menu of hairdos that includes trims, highlights and colours but not complete re-styles. There are also makeovers in association with Benefit cosmetics- meaning you can nip in after work and transform yourself in under 35 minutes. The parlour aims to offer offer treatments at a reasonable price, with events such as their £20 mother/daughter Tuesdays providing mum with the chance to indulge in a blow dry and while daughters get a braid. For just £12 you can also ‘upgrade your ‘do’ with a head massage, cake and unlimited drinks throughout the service.
The Parlour’s girly atmosphere also make it a good venue for private events- including bridal parties, birthdays or simply a bit of pre-party pampering before a night out. ‘How to’ workshops can also equip you with the skills to replicate your salon experience at home and the boutique’s monthly book club offers the chance to enjoy some wine and cheese and soak up a bit of culture. The boutique recently won Jacqueline Gold's #WOW award via twitter, so the company is definitely on the up. Experience it now!
