For Youth Hostel Assocation venues, you can get extra reductions if you’re a member of the IYHF (International Youth Hostel Federation): you’ll pay £3 less a night. Joining costs only £15.95 (£9.95 for under-25s), and can be done on arrival or through www.yha.org.uk prior to departure. All under-18s receive a 25 per cent discount, in any case. YHA hostel beds are arranged either in dormitories or in twin rooms.
