Join some of the country's leading scientists and engineers at this fair, billed as the UK’s biggest-ever celebration of science and engineering for young people. It's free, and a wide range of activities includes everything from robot challenges and seeing how chocolate bars are made to exploring satellite technology and understanding green energy by making wind turbines. There are musical shows exploring the theory of evolution, electrically conductive paint sessions, classroom casualty activities in which you can try taking blood or recording an ECG and a whole range of other hands-on, interactive things to do. With a view to encouraging youngsters into science, there'll be a careers advice area and lots of practitioners on hand to guide, advise and explain.
