Various Dalston businesses and art collectives take part in this summer-long children's festival, which features family-friendly activities in music, sports, theatre, literature, arts and crafts, film, food and play. To kick things off on May 25, Gillett Square will be turned into a play-time wonderland (1-5pm), with boardgames and toys from around the world – including giant chess and magnetic football. Come Jun 16, however, the square will play host to The African Market (11am-6pm), with original and ethical fashion items, homeware, books, music and more. Or try your hand at cricket outside the CLR James Library (Aug 19, 4.30-6pm).
