An exhibition exploring the creative partnerships between the worlds of science, sport and design. Exhibits including the Speedo LZR swimsuit and Shimano Di-2 electronic bicycle shifting technology show how new materials and innovative design have helped athletes push the boundaries of sporting achievement. The exhibition also examines cases where sporting bodies have intervened to limit the effects of new sporting equipment. The crossovers between sporting innovation and visual culture are celebrated through work by designers, photographers and artists, showing how the influence of sporting innovation has expanded to the worlds of fashion and business, among others.
