A small, intimate one-day event in Reading, nestled on the banks of the Thames, Third Rail is a friendly affair with a low-key, quirky vibe and an alternative, gently electronic soundtrack. Acts include wild nu-jazz crossover warriors Polar Bear, electronica duo Lakker, ambient electronic-pop act Grumbling Fur and proggy, post-rocky electronic voyagers Teeth of the Sea. As well as eclectic music, there's also a cinema tent hosted by the London Short Film Society, DJs from music site The Quietus, table tennis, retro computer games and local ales – and all for a sensible price. There's plenty to like here.
