As well as being a listed building, The Spice of Life plays host to a great regular jazz club. Jamie Cullum, Soweto King and Darius Brubeck have all performed here.

Pretty much the doorway into Soho, you can't really miss the Spice of Life if you're coming from Leicester Square.

It's got a great reputation for the jazz scene in the 90s, as well as the punk scene in the 70s and 80s.

As a boozer, it's OK, standard drinks prices and decent selection.

i love this pub the staff the atmosphere everything is just welcoming and the prices arent too bad either. Only problem i have is never being able to get a seat its always busy and unless you go early your standing all night but other than that is a great place to go.

Lovely pub to share a beer with some friends. I go there sometimes after work and I find it to have a really good variety of beers. They normally have live music going on downstairs. Definitely worth going

The Man on the Street

The Spice of Life is one of SOHO's proper pubs. Just off Cambridge Circus, next to The Palace Theatre , you can have a fine old time on the ground floor. Spacious , good selection of beers and spirits - and the staff are usually tame. However, the real treat is the music room downstairs. Have a listen at the door. If you fancy the sound ... go in. Its intimate and fun. There's a lot of talk of live music venues closing in London. This one is alive and well .... and well worth a visit.
