Morrissey

Pop and rock

  • Critics' choice

The Pope of Mope returns, trailing a new album ('World Peace Is None of Your Business') and a dark cloud. Moz's iconic miserablism won't have been relieved by a tough patch that's reportedly seen him dropped by his record label, but we've got our fingers...

Yes, from BBC One's wildly popular 'Mrs Brown's Boys' and now 'D'Movie' too, Brendan O'Carroll adapts his crude Irish mammy character for the stage once again, playing the massive O2 Arena. If you've ever watched the sitcom and thought 'I'd love to see...

The National

Alternative rock

  • Critics' choice

Since emigrating from Ohio to Brooklyn in the late 1990s, this five-piece – including two sets of brothers – have been making dark, seductively brooding alt rock. It's a gothic breed of Americana that suggests a country and western Interpol, or Joy Division...

Neil Diamond

Pop and rock

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

Indie rock, Rock 'n' roll, Psych and garage rock

  • Critics' choice

With Oasis now a distant memory, Gallagher senior has well and truly taken flight with his High Flying Birds. As you might expect, there are lots of ’60s-leaning, jangly pop and psychedelia-inspired moments to enjoy and sing along to, but with his sky-high...

OneRepublic

Pop and rock

The Coldplayish pop-rockers from Colorado with one of the worst band names around – seriously, it makes them sound like they should be manufacturing and selling crap T-shirts and pre-distressed denim – headline another big London show.

Paloma Faith

Pop, Soul

  • Critics' choice

Hackney's sassy, retro soul chanteuse, who's an out-and-proud fan of insane outfits, theatrics and doo-wop harmonies, plays cuts from her latest LP 'A Perfect Contradiction'. Can the show possibly be as bonkers as the album sleeve? Quite probably.
