The huge north-east festival stalwart returns for a its two-day Bank Holiday stint, generally catering for a younger audience and offering a mix of pop, singer-songwriters, gentle D&B, pop-rock bands and a few edgy eletronic acts. Headline acts include The Vaccines, Paloma Faith, Ellie Goulding and Jake Bugg. It's a city shindig so there's no camping, but hey, who really likes waking up in a sweaty/rain-sodden tent covered in cider anyway? Well, evidently a lot of people, but probaby not the sort who go to Evolution, so just rejoice in the fact you can have a shower before Day Two.
Not the height of evolution, but fun fluffy dance-pop business.
