Jackson Browne

US singer-songwriter best known for his melancholic, countrified musings on 'These Days' - first written by Browne but brought to people's attention by Nico (she of The Velvet Underground collaboration fame), who recorded the first version of the song. Browne is huge in the US and also pretty popular over here with crowds of a certain age, who'll be singing along with gusto to all the hits, including 'The Pretender' and 'Running on Empty'.
