A founder of South Africa's legendary Blue Notes who relocated to London in the 1970s, Moholo is a master drummer who reels off a jazz swing as easily as African polyrhythms and free improvisations. Here he plays a two-day residency with his band – saxophonist Jason Yarde, bassist John Edwards and pianist Alexander Hawkins – to perform from their most recent album, ‘4 Blokes’.
