Trowel on the SPF50 and pull up a beanbag – Leicester Square’s summer screen is returning for its second year!

Taking place between Thursday August 8 and Sunday August 11 in Leicester Square Gardens, the free programme of screenings promises to show something for all – from Tim Burton’s live-action reimagining of 'Dumbo' to everyone’s favourite sing-a-long musical, 'The Greatest Showman'.

With beanbags and deckchairs scattered around, and more than enough space for families to bring their own picnic blankets, it’s a welcome alternative to squinting at your sun-drenched laptop screen in a slightly unkept back garden.

Here’s a full list of this year’s film titles (start times in brackets):

Thursday August 8
Peter Rabbit (11am)
Babe (12.45pm)
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2.30pm)
Groundhog Day (4.45pm)
Dumbo (Live Action) (7pm)

Friday August 9
Moana (11am)
The Incredibles 2 (1.10pm)
Beauty and the Beast singalong (3.25pm)
Ghostbusters (5.50pm)
Back to the Future (7.45pm)

Saturday August 10
The Little Mermaid (11am)
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (12.40pm)
Mrs Doubtfire (2.50pm)
Jurassic Park (5.10pm)
Grease singalong (7.30pm)

Sunday August 11
Frozen singalong (11am)
Mary Poppins Returns (1pm)
Sister Act (3.20pm)
The Greatest Showman singalong (5.15pm)

Who said the West End was reserved for red-carpet movie stars, eh?
