Gandini Juggling’s wildly original take on 'Die Walküre'; a potted version of Wagner’s 'Ring Cycle' with little more than his hands from theatre artist Andrew Dawson; comedy dance duo New Art Club, aka Roden and Shenton, present their own interpretation of Verdi operas; and Royal Ballet Choreographic Affiliate Mayuri Boonham also performs new work created especially for this year’s festival. In January 2013, ROH and composer Elspeth Brooke asked people to contribute recordings of themselves singing Verdi’s well-loved chorus ‘Va pensiero’, from 'Nabucco'. The resulting installation is an imaginative response to ‘Va pensiero’ involving many different voices, from young to old, untrained individual to opera chorus; it includes everyone from staff at the Royal Opera House and members of the March 2013 'Nabucco' audience, to people from all over the globe.
