The BBC Symphony Orchestra and BBC Symphony Chorus under Edward Gardner, Sir Roger Norrington, Sir Mark Elder and Martyn Brabbins, with soprano Susan Gritton, mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, tenor Robert Murray, and bass-baritones Gerald Finley and Bryn Terfel. Mark-Anthony Turnage's 'Canon Fever' (world premiere); Elgar's Overture 'Cockaigne (In London Town)'; Delius's 'Sea Drift'; Tippett's Suite for the Birthday of Prince Charles; and Elgar's Coronation Ode (1911 version). (Note: at 4.30pm there is a Proms Plus event at the Royal College of Music.)
