  • "Photography from the 60's and 70's"...so says the title. Yes.....but what drab, depressing, bleak photography. Almost every image seems designed to attempt to make the viewer feel guilty....guilty for war, guilty for apartheid, guilty for peering into the exploited lives of the subjects of these photographs. This is an exhibition which provided me with nothing positive at all....not even well constructed photographs. Don't bother!

  • The title of the exhibition is meaningless art-drivel, whatever the curators had in mind. But what you get is a lot of unforgettable pictures - there's virtually nothing in the show that doesn't grab your attention or curiosity. Larry Burrows' shots from Vietnam were my highlight. It's an exhibition you shouldn't miss.

  • Fascinating and educational, but quite gruelling. I had to have a break half-way through to have a glass of wine to fortify me for the rest of it. Also, was quite surprised that the photographs are displayed on such a small scale - had to get up close and peer - would have liked to see them blown up a little. There's very little colour which also takes its toll after a while. Don't miss it, but do be prepared to come out exhausted. V sad to read that the Apartheid photos have gone.

  • Incredible exhibition, outdid all expectations. Would highly recommend. Was nearly moved to tears at the images from the Vietnam War.

  • This is the fourth time I've been. It's just wonderful. The photos relating to Apartheid in South Africa have been seized by bailiffs over some misunderstanding about an unpaid electricity bill and others have faded but still worth the (admittedly expensive) £650 entry fee.

  • This exhibition is 'moving' in every sense of the word. Such rich cultural diversity, covering a period of social change and political unrest. The photos relating to apartheid in South African, segregation and the Civil Rights movement in America, almost bought me to tears. Will see this exhibition again!
