The cosiest venue in the Southbank Centre complex, the Purcell Room is an intimate, 365-seat auditorium within the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Literature events tend to be its mainstay with readings from prominent authors as well as lectures and spoken word events, though musicians are increasingly making their way into the listings from chamber orchestras to folkies.
