  • Enjoyable meal. Food delicious, especially the veal cheeks and Pyrennean lamb. Service good but slightly inattentive. Ambience, good at times I would imagine but spoilt on my visit by noisy birthday party. Could also be with a little bit more elbow room.

  • We booked a table for four on-line a few days in advance and arrived on time at6.30pm on20 December. It was therefore disappointing to be shown to a high table for eight right inside the doorway which already contained four people who had sprawled out. Although they offered to move up, we didn’t feel well treated by the waitress particularly when there were lots of empty tables at the back of the restaurant. The manager was too busy chatting to deal with our complaint and so we walked out. Instead we went to Istanbul Mezze Bar (www.istanbulmeze.co.uk) in nearby Cleveland Street, where we were delighted to find staff who appreciated our custom.

  • Good food, poor service. Very decent selection of daily tapas and a few standards. We were informed before hand that the table seating period was for 2 hours. However there is an unpleasant paradox in encouraging diners to have more wine and food only to bluntly tell them with tapas still on the table that the seating period was over and you would now need to leave. Given price its a bit much, but then again it seems that the way of the world today. Whilst the interior is simple and elegant, a number of attendees were more interested in coming in for a drink than the food which means that unless you are seated at the back at proper tables the din of noise and crowd pushing onto you as you eat to the side is rather unpleasant. Again the food is quite good, if unexceptional for the prices demanded and those seeking a more pleasant atmosphere are better served to attend the Salt Yard next door (though the service is also fairly if not very poor).

  • Brilliant - Barrica was the second restaurant my friend and I visited on a four restaurant tapas tour of London and it was definitely the best. The menu was both imaginative, with spectacular combinations such as the divine scallops with marrow and girolles, and classic, the huge prawns with garlic and chilli were the best I've tasted outside Spain. Fantastic range of wine by the glass and all very reasonable priced as well.

  • Food was great, as was the service and prices were good value but the atmosphere was a soulless and tables were wedged too close together. Food 4, Ambience 2, Service 4

  • We had a really nice saturday lunch with my wife. The place is great. Warm atmosphere. The service is straight forward, fast an simple. Drinks were excellent; we had 4 wines by the glass (Godello, Verdejo, Jumilla and Garnacha). All the 6 tapas were very well done. Good flavours, texture and quantity. All for less than 50 pounds with service charge included. Honest food, cool place and you get the feeling that you are in España for a couple of hours. We are going again...very soon.

  • I love Barrica - amazing sherry and wine list, great food, fantastic atmosphere and really friendly, knowledgeable staff. Some highly imaginative specials as well make this place an absolute must for any tapas lovers.

  • stunning wines, lovely atmosphere, buzzy but stylish yet relaxed and cosy - fabulous combo. The best jamon I have yet tasted - lots of inventive daily specials. Not cheap, but worth it

  • Very imaginative and innovative tapas in this quaint little place. Always very tasty and making you want more. Great staff and value for money. Little tip: wines are excellent as owner is involved with the Spanish wine trade.
