The great pizza usually makes up for the generally rude service but today the big red pizzeria had a good go at ruining my birthday.

I booked a lunch tomorrow for over 20 people a while a go and went in person today to confirm the booking, they confirmed it. However, they texted me at 1850 to cancel my booking. Pretty shoddy given how long we had the booking and the fact we were there earlier today and they have given me no time to book an alternative.

I for one (and all my friends) will avoid in future and I suggest you do the same.

First time eating out in Deptford and what a treat! Celebrating a friends birthday party we occupied the whole of the top deck which made for a cosy and warm atmosphere in its retro creative surroundings. Fantastic idea, delicious/fresh food and very friendly staff....I would definitely go again and highly recommend it, if you are looking for a wonderful & different dining experience.

I've been to the Big Red a few times now, and the pizza is really great, very fresh and tasty, with good portion sizes - The atmosphere is also very cool. Especially nice if there's not too many of you to take over the front seats of the bus with a few drinks after the pizza. Highly recommend it.

I've been to The Big Red on our last gallery trail. Had the marguerita (£5) and rasperry Mean Time beer. Utterly delicious, fresh and filling. Really enjoyed this little oasis of magic, as did everybody we went with. Sure, Deptford ain't Hampstead but that, and a double decker pizzeria with a fresh herb garden are part of its arty charm.
