A Clapton vegan café run as a not-for-profit workers' co-operative.
The menu at this Clapton ethical and vegan cafe might be simple, but they're a top spot for budget plant-based food that's healthy too. (And there's not a glossy west-London couple in sight.) Their ever-changing salad plates feature a rotating selection of perfectly dressed kale, beetroot and pesto salads. Their smoky lentil burger (£7) is proper comfort food and we never leave without grabbing a syrupy vegan pastry from the counter.

I love Black Cat and go there at least once a week. The food is delicious and big portions too. They have a daily specials menu with plenty of choice with meals such as burger and chips (delicious), curry with bhajis, vegan fish and chips, salad plates, soups, pasta etc.
There is a lovely selection of cakes and other sweet goodies too including their fabulous milkshakes made with soya or almond milk.
The staff are friendly and accommodating.
They are getting very popular now and there is a buzzing atmosphere.
