  • I just had my first night out at this highly recommended club and..... it was AWFUL! We arrived, having called and put our names on a guest list, we then found out there was no such thing as a guest list - not so on the phone a few hours earleir. We were then asked to que up but were hurded like cows on their way to be milked or slaughtered. Once we got in we were hurded again and then shouted at repeatedly to move out of the way (of what exactly, I am not sure. None of us was drunk or being rude in anay way). Finally we made it into the club where we got a table ands paid 190pounds sterling for a tiny bottle of vodka. Once in the club, the music was really good and the atmosphere was fun, so I strated to understand why people go there but then I had an irrate, drunk girl stand on my foot and when I tried to let her know what she had done she and her friend tried to attack me, a bouncer had to come and pull her friend off me, I was quite shocked and just did not expect this to happen to me in there. Then finally when i decided it was time to leave, I went to get my coat and was again shouted at and hurded, even though I was standing in line with me ticket at the ready. I then tried to complain to the manager or guest list man but he just mocked me infront of all the other guests who then in turn mocked me........ what an absolutely awful evening. The only redeming thing was one particular bouncer who seemed really nice, kind and caring and tried to help me as he seemed to see the issues I had through out my time there, I think he is too good to be working there! I understand that people will go to this club because Prince Harry went once but really it is a rip off, rude and just really awful!

  • Unhappy we were turned away we are (3 women in their 30's, professional, not under the influence) The door staff just didn't like the look of us. Embarrasing. I did however experience a good level of service at a private event. Good days and bad I guess but rather too early in their opening for any bad days. I don't care who the clientelle are.

  • Definitely no Austrian Gemuetlichkeit (cheeriness) at all! It's a shame they sell themselves like that. Nothing is even close to being Austrian, maybe the closest is the food they serve. In reality it is another presumptuous club in London (no surprise since it is run by people who own already other clubs), just stressful from the beginning to the end. They put too many people around a table, they put a torch on a meter schnaps and they run out of pint classes very quickly and try to sell two small glasses of beer instead of one pint. That is close to an insult in Austria and no one ever would do that. The worst thing is that once you get outside, you have no guarantee to get inside again. Not even if you wear an Austrian dress as they advertise on their homepage. Overall it is another successful club in London, but has nothing to do with Austrian cheeriness!

  • My friend organised my surprise 30th Birthday here and I had the best time ever.......staff were amazing, there was an impromptu 'Sound of Music' dance in the middle of the restaurant, where all the staff stopped what they were doing to take part!!!! Absolutely hilarious night, really cool music and massively recommended to anyone up for a lot of light entertainment and who has wants a kitch night our in London. Bodo's definitely doesn't take itself too seriously!!

  • Went to Bodo's last Friday for a friend's birthday and had the best time. Felt like I was back in St Anton....my schnitzel was delicious, great wine, yum cocktails, and spent the rest of the evening dancing like crazy! Defintely coming back ASAP!

  • I agree with the comments below - had a few fun nights there and wanted to return yesterday only to get the worst experience ever. Queued for an hour in the rain with 4 girls and 2 guys. Had a VIP pass which stated we can get 2 GUESTS in for free with us. Asked at the door and was then told by an arrogant guy on a power trip that the guests have to be girls! What's the point!! And where does it say this?! No one could explain but insisted this was the case. Then arrived at the front of the line only to be told it was full. Miraculously, a group of 10 guys managed to enter just a few minutes before... Totally rude door staff who have no idea of customer service which is a shame as its rather fun inside.
