An upmarket burger chain with more than 20 branches in London, Byron has found success by paying attention to all areas of its operation. The spaces are clean, light and attractive; staff are welcoming and good with kids.
The menu has burgers centre stage (including chicken and vegetarian choices) and all come with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle and mayo. Further toppings include bacon, avocado, roasted red pepper, portobello mushroom, jalapeño and various cheeses (such as monterey jack). For sauces, choose from chilli, spicy barbecue, aïoli, tomato mayonnaise, blue cheese or Byron’s own. The only other main-course options are salads (cobb and caesar among them). Quality is good, and service generally speedy.
A similarly well-considered drinks list runs from apple juice and Oreo cookie milkshake to wine; beers (from small breweries) include a Byron pale ale, from Camden Town Brewery.
