The neighbourhood has a wealthy and exclusive vibe, but Casa Malevo is a little hub of welcoming homeliness. That’s partly thanks to the small, domestic-feeling interior, with its old-fashioned dresser and a back conservatory that overlooks gardens and a children’s play area.

Decor includes framed photographs of appropriate images such as steaks or a gaucho’s spur. The bare brick walls (Argentinian steak restaurant standard issue, it seems) are even rougher than most. Happily, flavours followed this intense pattern. Starters came in simple blue and white enamel dishes, but there was nothing basic about the cooking.

Sweetbreads were superb, as at sister restaurant Zoilo, their thin, sweet crust giving way to a creamy, quivering interior. A delicate salad of beetroot, goat’s cheese and rocket showed that these grill-masters are sensitive souls really. The salty caramelising on our steaks was just as finely achieved, a sharp hit before the full-flavoured flesh within. Both sirloin and ribeye were first rate. Service was cheery and pally – the staff seemed as happy to be there as we were.

Are first time at this restaurant, the experience was horrible, the service was slow and the manager was only paying attention to his lap top or smoking out side the entrance with out controlling the members of staff who was chatting all evening, (There's plenty of responsible people looking for work out there who would kill for a opportunity as this) Yon need to pay more attention to your customers, with out us there wouldn't be a casa malevo l will not return to this restaurant, Extremely disappointed

Great food, excellent wine options, very good service and a nice place where to eat. What else can you ask from a restaurant? I think Casa Malevo has all this right. The only think I'm not tu sure about is the sausages, a bit too spicy to the argentinean palate, but i think they might go well with the local's taste. The milanesa is like "de la vieja" (which is a very high rate in Argentina).

The best Argentine restaurant in town... The meat is superb as is everything else we have tried at this place: the pumpkin and sage ravioli, the Sweetbread starter, and definitely the dulcedeleche creme brulee. Would strongly recommend it - and it's affordable: we always leave FULL and we have not paid more than 40gbp per person. I completely disagree with the reviews. A good sign is the fact that Casa Malevo is always packed with Argentineans unlike the other "wannabees" in town (like overpriced Gaucho).
