Show up at this corner pub on a Sunday lunchtime and you’ll think you’ve walked into an estate agent’s advertisement for urban living.

Artfully scruffy and unnecessarily sunglassed thirtysomethings wake up with a pint and dissect last night’s adventures; affluent couples tuck into decent gastropub cooking; bar staff mill about looking like everyone’s cooler older brother or sister.

It’s all very New Hackney, a far cry from the days when this was the kind of pub in which drinkers occasionally got glassed at the bar. Every Tuesday, there’s a quiz hosted by the presumably pseudonymous Quizzee Rascal and Lethal Quizzal; if you chuckled at the pop-culture reference, then this just might be your kind of place.

Great place to hang outside in the summer but nor particularly keen on the pub itself. Always too busy and loud and always smells of cooking.

I've always enjoyed going out here in the evenings but I had food for the first time last night. It was excellent - tasty and fresh and the flavours were well put together. Although the service wasn't great, and at times it's a bit noisy for an over-dinner conversation, I'd defnitely eat here again.

uber cool, slightly pretentious place full of 'home counties hipsters' who are slumming it in East London and now consider themselves locals... tend to think there better than you coz they have lived in East London for a few years longer and buy there drugs from someone who lives on the local estate. turn there nose up at anyone they dont recognise. good spot out the front for people watching tho.

Recommended for a good Sunday roast by a friend. Bad service, tough meat and dirty tables. Won't be going again.
