  • AVOID AT ALL COSTS; the place looks & feels old, but not in a good way. It's fairly cheap so I gave it a try as fish'n'chip outlets are not that common in the city. The chips were hard & had a synthetic oil taste, but worse than that the sausage I ordered was undercooked so I returned the lot. The older Mediterranean guy behind the counter who refused to give me a refund was rude & argumentative. Save your money & time, you're better off in McDonalds.

  • Was there a couple of nights ago and had a take away cod and chips which I ate in my car around the corner. Trying to save a few quid! I raved about this place a few weeks ago and certainly the cod in it's batter was just as delicious but I have to say, both times I have been there, the chips were a big disappointment. They made no effort at all to make decent crispy chips to compliment the delicious fish. The chips were soggy and slimey. They really were among the worst chips I have ever had in London. best chips are at Mr. Fish opposite Queens Park tube station. Such a shame for such a great old fashioned chippy with lovely fish in exactly the right batter to be let down by crappy chips. For the high prices they charge, they really should try to serve proper chips.....the chips I've had there were a disgrace.

  • I was in there a couple of days ago on a Saturday evening and it was the best battered cod I have tasted in London. Almost as good as a Yorkshire chippy, not quite. Chips were nothing special and needed to be crisper but the chunky cod was delicious. batter just like they make it up north. London doesn't do good fish and chips so this is one to be treasured.

  • Went for lunch here today based on this recommendation, and was really pleased. Good value for money, good service and big portions. Good cup of tea as well! They don't take credit cards though, so make sure you visit an ATM first.

  • I'm from San Francisco, where we actually have one great chippy. When in the UK we are looking for better. It wasn't until Fryer's Delight that we found one. Exceptional cod and chips! Fine textured, crunchy batter. The staff was English when we were there - and very helpful and informative. We hope to make it to another chippy or two on this trip, but we Have To get back to Fryer's Delight,
