  • I visited Air Street yesterday and it matched up to all the A++ reviews I'd read. The Tamworth ribs as a started were a great size and covered in a great sauce. We opted for the roast dinner as a main and on this particular day the roasted joint was from the sirloin (not the usual rump) - this made it even better value! The size of the dinner was as amazing as the taste, from the marrowbone gravy to the goose fat roasted potatoes not forgetting the great cut of beef. Last thing to mention would be the staff, all of them were attentive and our particular waitress was able to answer any questions we had and didn't keep pestering us during each course.

  • I went to Hawksmoor Air Street last night with my family, everything from the cocktails to the desserts were fantastic!! My husband and I had the Dover Sole which they happily took off the bone for us, it was delicious. Our sons and daughters in law had a steak selection which they all said was tender and cooked exactly how they asked. The baked sweet potato was perfect! Yes it is expensive but the overall experience was great, we would go again for another special occasion. The waiting staff and bar staff couldn't have been more helpful.

  • Here is the REAL deal on Hawksmoor. It's a 6.5/10 restaurant across the board. After eating there 4 times (3 times Covent Garden / once Air St) I won't be returning. Not because it's terrible but because it's just totally and utterly average food and cooking at an inflated price. If you eat at an expensive and lauded 'Steakhouse' in say New York you'll get melt in the mouth meat, incredible sides and mind blowing puddings. The food at Hawksmoor WANTS to be like this but is just 'MEH...'. It's totally and utterly average. It's not great. Unfortunately like many, TimeOut has fallen for the hype. Yet again another hyped London restaurant!!

  • As with all hipster openings, all the reviewers are swooning over this new hawksmoor. My "real" experience was less than amazing, there was nothing wrong with the food, steak and sides as always excellent, however the shoulder of turbot at £30 was extremely dissapointing. Biggest dissapointment of all though was the service, all but one of the staff members we were served by had no answers to our questions, they forgot our wine, then bought the wrong wine, then stored it in a cooler away fron the table and kept forgetting to pour it for us. The vast room had no atmosphere. They will of course be packed for years to come because service doesn't seem to matter these days. But for £100 a head won't be rushing back, give me the ivy or dean st over this at half the price any day of the week.

  • Disappointing from start to finish. Service was really poor and the Chateau Briand overcooked which is inexcusable for a steak restaurant particularly at these prices. Have emailed and had no response. Such a shame as Seven Dials is one of my favourite London restaurants.

  • If you want a 5* dover sole go to Scotts it'll cost you £4 more and is infintely superior. They even take it off the bone for you there something likely to make the hipster servers here faint at the thought. 5* review!?!?!?! Really? Timeout did they really sucker you so?
