Can't believe Time Out have given this place only three stars. Please don't believe it: the food is so much better than that. It is my favourite lunch stop in Covent Garden - I work around here and have tried most places out. This place beats the rest.

Awesome lunch spot, never fails to serve up a delicious homely meal. Do not lisen to comments about portion size, get a grip and ask for what you want, the servers are only to happy to top up portions or change ratio's. They often let me have so much you can't close the box. A great independant lunch spot full of great food and charm.

I was a regular at this place, sometime 3 - 4 visits each week. But the portion sizes became ridiculous. A small salad (for £4) became half a cardboard box of air and barely enough salad to cover the bottom of that box. For hot food (large = £6!) the serving is often two thirds full with rice or potato mash. I recall something about golden eggs and someone who killed a goose because they were greedy. I won't be going back without first seeing "under new management" on the shopfront. , two thirds of your box is filled with rice or potato mash I'm happy to pay for quality food but this place takes the proverbial p++s when you get a half empty cardboard box with a few lettuce leaves

Mixed feelings about this place. Quality of food can be good but sometimes for meat dishes they use very low quality chewy cuts - not nice! Biggest problem is portion size - which depends on who serves you and can be small making it expensive. Cashier lady pretends to be friendly but rules the servers with an iron fist - they serve too much and I expect they risk having their fingers cut off.

I am just eating a quiche and small salad bought from this place for lunch. It is truely amazing. Really flavoursome and interesting textures and combinations. I wouldn't get bored of this place if I went every day. They is always a queue and now I understand why.

It's safe to say it's luck of the draw. I have visited this place a couple of times, first time was served by a young chap in their, was great I had a delicious salad and a lovely piece of lemon cake. Second time, I was served by a young lady - I just went for salad my salad box was only half filled which meant it was very little food for £4.00. They don't take cards either which is a bit of a downfall. Now I feel a bit negative about the place, where as before it was all positive. As lovely as the food is, it's not cheap, therefore I expect quality in every way.

Delicious salads to take-away with a rotating menu every day. Always delicious.

Just incredible. The salads are AMAZING! The staff are lovely too. Hands down the best lunch spot in the area.

Just ate at Kastner & Ovens for the first time today and absolutely love it! What a fab fresh solution to fast food to take away back to the office. I've somehow missed this place on all my tours around local restaurants - I will definitely head back tomorrow!
