I have eaten at La Bonne Heure on several occasions and the food is consistently good with a wide choice of dishes and excellent value for money at £26 for three courses. The service is friendly whilst remaining professional and the ambience is warm. The decor is a bit kitsch but this is a hangover from the previous tenants and a light hearted alternative to the trendy, stripped back and slightly grungy decor of some better known local alternatives. It is interesting to see how much busier the restaurant has become over the past year with locals who are 'in the know'. I booked a table for eight recently including one vegan and the restaurant pulled out the stops to accommodate us with a superb meal . I would recommend it to anyone looking for a traditional french evening meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
Delicious dinner, the steak with bearnaise sauce was the most tender I have ever had. My partner's squid was perfectly cooked and not the least tough (which is difficult to do.) The creme brulee was perfect, and I am an expert. Service perfect and professional.
