  • I was excited to try bubble tea in London as I've travelled around Asia and have fallen in love with this fabulous drink. I will give my honest and frank review having visited Lakwatsa this month. On arrival the vibe was bright, airy and trendy. However my initial impression soon changed having experienced the following: 1.) I agree with over reviewers you have to wait a ridiculous long time for your order. Unfortunately, food restaurants serve quicker than this beverage/tapas style establishment. 2.) I recognised the owner from recent photo publications but she must have been having a bad day as I witnessed her scolding staff in front of the customers. Not a professional sight at all! 3.) I ordered the spring rolls and strawberry bubble tea - I was served by the owner but unfortunately the bubble tea she served tasted far too sweet for my liking and seemed very artificial. I've tasted more authentic bubble teas travelling china, Japan and USA. I was disappointed to not have found my fix here. My drink arrived within 15 minutes or so. However, I waited a further 20 minutes for my spring rolls to arrive. I had already finished my drink so felt forced to order another refreshment to quench my first whilst eating. I wish I didn't. I took a bite into my spring roll and was underwhelmed. The lack of taste and seasoning wasn't worth the wait. I don't think I will be returning here. I've since learned that there are other bubble tea eateries in London and will definitely be venturing there next time. I hope the owner takes these open and honest reviews on board as it would be a shame for a great looking and good concept business to fail so soon. sadly I won't be returning.
