The Perritt brothers have ploughed a pretty penny into making the Mall Tavern’s pair of double-aspect rooms look plush and pretty. New life has been breathed into the original wooden floorboards that lap around a striking central bar, while swish chandeliers hang from the ceiling and enormous glass cabinets showcase an assortment of classic culinary knick-knacks and antiques.

Jesse Dunford Wood’s menu carries cheeky, almost childish nods to nostalgia: expect the likes of chicken kievs, fish fingers and mushy peas, and a chunky, Desperate Dan-style cow pie complete with horns made from bone marrow. But you can also drink here: a broad range of whiskies, the bar’s major strength, is supplemented by three cask ales, some craft ciders, a short, classic cocktail list and some 30 wines.

I love this venue.  I first found out about it at a dating event, but then went back time and time again.  Have eaten at the Kitchen Table and had my birthday in the Library - both were great.  My favourite course are the starters - order them all like tapas!

I had a family dinner in there on Thursday. Never been before. Excellent food. I jumped on this website as I was showing my friend where to find the place & was surprised it was only rated 3 STAR by TimeOut. Way better than that. It's a great pub with amazing food, drink and people (both staff and customers). Such a great buzz of an atmosphere which only comes from great places. Way above any pub I have been to before in London. Thank you Mall Tavern

Relaxed, fresh and well stocked, The Mall Tavern has jumped with seemingly effortless ease onto the ''Modern British Bandwagon'' with that particular brand of confidence so typical of it's Notting Hill - Kensington post code. Exceptional pub food with a good array of draught brews, bottled beers and a carefully selected wine list, all have the makings of a great evening. But alas, one problem: although designed to cater for the slightly better heeled of London W -whatever, the breezy, nonchalant attitude of both staff and patrons is quickly replaced with a loud, more elbow driven and less courteous style of gastro-pubbing, once the many adjacent offices start kicking out. Early evening imbibing can become a considerably less enjoyable pass time here once many of the inevitable brokers and loafers begin to get into the swing of things. Although excellent in the food and beverage department, be prepared for the likely possibility of bone chilling arrogance and midweek male driven bravado if the bar begins to fill.

Was disappointed - came here for dinner on a Wednesday night with some visiting family. Had looked at their website and online menu before hand and was looking forward to it only to discover that the menu in the restaurant was completely different. Our waitress was very abrupt and unpleasant too, which was a shame. I wouldn't give this one another shot or recommend it.
