This is very much a place to lunch on a summer’s day. Part of a new development off the Putney Bridge Road, it has extensive multi-level outdoor terraces with smart canopies, pretty planting and views across the river. The menu is extensive in nearly every department, from starters through pizza, pasta, mains and desserts. It deals mainly with classic Italian cooking, though there may be other approaches in evidence among the daily specials. (It is also seriously in need of proofreading to correct the numerous errors, by don't let that deter your reading.) House wines are just £16.50 a bottle, and others (from a very sound list) can be had for little more than £20. Go here for classic Italian food - and for that full-on riverside experience.

Booked a table for a birthday party next weekend. Can none tell me how to get discount vouchers online?! Thank you!

The service is ridiculous, but the food isn't bad, but you could make it quite easily at home yourself. Avoid going on a saturday, because the manager that is on duty definitely doesn't want to be there, we didn't book and were told that the 10 empty tables were reserved for 8pm and we arrived at 7pm, which was fair enough, except that the tables never filled and we were there until 9:30pm. Thanks dude! They are seriously under staffed and if you plan on going, do it on a nice day and order your drinks and food at the same time and you could even request the bill as soon as you can get their attention, because it takes forever to get them to bring it to you.

I have never bothered to write a comment about a restaurant until now, but after having the worst fine dining experience in London at Marco Polo in the River ( Putney) on 18/08/2012 evening I decided to make the rest of the food lovers aware of this place. Drinks and Starters were served promptly and mains took longer than usual. Given it is a Saturday eve we understood the delay. However the food was really nice. After the mains we waited for more than 20 mins for a glass of water and we were still waiting :). Then the desserts, since no desserts were offered we asked for the desserts menu and out come was the same, that waiter didn't turn up. Even the bill wasn't there so we had o queue up and pay. Finally when I wanted to speak to the manager the staff said he was busy. This whole experience ruined our Anniversary dinner. Londoner , Your local Pizza Express / even pizza hut will look after you more than Marco polo.

As part of a group of 20+ we had a great time at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, both in presentation and quality, and the portions were large. This was complemented by some good red wine to round off our experience. I would recommend this restaurant.
