In 2012 this Soho restaurant opened as Italian restaurant Fornata, but at the end of 2013 rebranded itself as a more straightforward pasta and pizza restaurant. The dumbing down of what had previously been a moderately ambitious Italian restaurant doesn't seem to deter the may passing tourists who pop in here when shopping on Regent or Carnaby Streets. Our thin-crusted pizza was fine, the toppings perfectly adequate, though prices are perhaps a little on the high side. The staff are all-Italian, which is handy if you want to practice your language skills between courses. There's now live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, from 8.30pm-midnight.

I could not even give a rating the meal we had was so bad. My pasta was cold the chicken soup was an oxo cube with a few chopped up mushrooms and the house wine was so thin and minimal it might as well have been coloured water. The bread served with the tomato soup was not as described in the menu it was just plain bread, and we asked for tap water on the table but that never materialised. All in all not a good experience food wise although the staff were polite enough.
I had a great meal at Fornata with friends, we shared lots of dishes including a delicious seafood risotto and my friend particularly loved the tiramissu cheesecake. All the dishes are a good size so it was nice to share them all. Service was speedy and friendly, our waiter recommended some really nice cocktails, like the Aperol Spritz which we enjoyed. All in all, it's a fun buzzy Italian in Soho with good value food.
A great find between Regent and Carnaby Street! Friendly staff, quick service and simple Italian food. Small 'pizzetas' were spot on. Nice atmosphere in the middle of Soho, perfect if you are heading for a night out afterwards.
I went there a couple of weeks ago with some friends and we headed to a club straight afterwards. Friendly Italian staff, great Italian food and lively atmosphere. Simply what you are looking for in Soho. Would def recommend.
Let's just talk about the order our food came in. My main arrives before our drinks. Just my main. Drinks arrive. 10 minutes later, starters arrive. The other main and side arrives another 10 minutes later. Waiting for my side. Prompts waiter. Meal finished, side arrives (was cold and tasteless) Asks for the dessert menu. 20 minutes later. No menu. Ask for the bill, waitress has no idea what we are trying to ask for. Have to dig out mental thesaurus for other words for 'bill'
Probably the meanest meal we've ever had! Poor service, over priced, tiny tiny portions, generally disorganised, rude staff downstairs who stared as you walked past for the toilets, billed for items not served - aparently the computer was playing up... Generally very disappointed - came home for a bite to eat!
We came here as a group of 10 people for a birthday party. We started off with some drinks, all seemed fine until we had to order our food. The waiters couldn't comprehend taking both starter and main course orders at the same time with ordering and serving times being all over the shop just adding to an awkward experience. The portion sizes are an absolute joke and you couldn't even mask it as 'fine dining' as the t-shirt clad waiters and poor etiquette in service clearly told another story. Save yourself the expensive disappointment and don't go here.
What's good: The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is pleasant and fitting with the area. Food is quiet tasty and the menu is varied. What's not so good: The portions are tiny and over-priced. The Burger at £9 was about the size of a tennis ball and that included the bap! Therefore the place is not good value for money. We left feeling very hungry and in need of another meal!
I have been here on two occasions - work christmas party and a birthday party with friends. I cannot compliment this place enough. They are the nicest people I have met. Our work christmas party was excellent and flawless when it came to the running of the party. The waiters were on it... a spilt drink and it was gone before you even alerted someone to it. Food was plentiful and we had ordered sooo much! They helped me walk it back to where I worked around the corner is special boxes so it did not go to waste. All guests could not compliment the food or staff more.... superb! After such a great work party I returned with a group of 9 friends. Yes portions are small - but its tapas, tapas is small. We ordered bits at a time so not to over do it and that was the perfect way. We then ordered bigger main menus each. Again the staff were amazing. Could not do enough for you and were so patient - considering we were a big group of girls who wanted a good old catch up, they were perfectly patient and we were not made to feel uncomfortable at all. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and what is great is it is not a chain. I think it is all priced well including drinks and the staff cannot be beaten at any restaurant I have been too!!! I dont write reviews but I was sooo impressed I had to!
Great staff, tasty food, but daylight robbery when it comes to price for the portion you get,,,feel very sorry for the staff who are equally embarrased by the value of their offer.
