Situated in Notting Hill Gate, Pizza Metro Pizza is a family restaurant with an interesting claim to fame. The sister of the first authentic Neapolitan pizzeria opened in London’s Battersea, the small Pizza Metro Pizza chain also lays claim to being the very first to offer the incredible metre long pizza, a concept now copied all over the capital. But Pizza Metro Pizza doesn’t rest on this one gimmick. Instead, the team behind this restaurant (and the restaurants in Battersea ) strive to continue providing some of the most authentic Italian pizza around in a warm, welcoming dining room with plenty of character and charm. The kitchen populated by chefs straight from Italy, PizzaMetroPizza’s menu relies on excellent ingredients, with 95% of the food - including doughs, breads and sausages - prepared freshly in house every day. All Italian ingredients go in to the pizzas, which are then cooked in a wood fired oven to ensure the most authentic flavour you’re likely to come across.

I start this review saying that I had already gone to this restaurant at least 3 times and I decided for this occasion to go with my brother, wife and 3yrs old child (they are visiting London), and my partner, because I really like the pizza there and we could have used our taste card.

Sunday 28th December, it was freezing outside. Once in the restaurant a member of staff suggested us to sit near the entrance... I argued it might have been cold, also for the baby who was meant to sit with the back facing the entrance. He said: I guarantee you this is the warmest table in the restaurant. Ok, we sat down. The waiter assigned to our table was perfect, smiling, nice and always helpful. The food, nothing to say.
But we started feeling cold, that bloody door started opening more often cause more people were coming in. We decided to put the coats and scarves on. After the starters the baby was very cold and I decided to call the man who had assured us it would have been fine to sit there, to ask for a quick change, we couldn't take it. He kept repeating that that one was the best table (even if I knew that the other times I went I never had any problem, still in winter). So he refused to move us!! When the bill came we decided to take off the service charge and we gave it to the nice waiter who served us.
Result, the day after: child with a bad cough, my partner with a terrible cold and me with an annoying sore throat.
I hate to pay and be treated poorly. The customer needs to be taken care of and next time I'll give my money to someone else!

Excellent pizzas!! If you are looking for an authentic Italian pizza with high quality ingredients that's the place to go. Best pizza I have ever tasted outside of Italy!

Extremely slow service considering it wasn't busy on a Fri night?! The wine was awful and had to ask waiter to change the wine. Waiter had forgotten about the wine and to take our food order too! Overall service was poor and food (veg pizza) was not great either.

I went there, I was disappointed, i was abused by the manager when I voiced my complaint to him. Customer service failure on an epic scale. If you're a tourist then I suggest you explore a little further a field as there are three more pizza joints of a higher quality nearby. If you're a local then you've probably already experienced this and get your pizza elsewhere.
