Primrose Hill

Close enough to Primrose Hill to attract hikers and dog walkers, the Queens has re-entered the Young’s fold (the Young’s sign hanging outside remained a constant through the changes in management), with Kronenbourg and Peroni accompanying the signature brews on draught.

Customers at the raised front tables overlooking the street, and in the tartan-tinged back area,

are served by the one narrow strip of bar – when things get busy, the decked outdoor area fills up.

There are great views from the upstairs dining room and terrace, where lunches (Cumberland sausage sandwich, 8oz rump steak) and dinners (fresh oysters, pan-fried salmon) are served.

Complained about my almost completely uncooked roast beef lunch - even the Yorkshire pudding was still a lump of stolid batter- and really they could not have been less interested. Avoid.
