Families love Cah Chi. It may have something to do with the bright, friendly decor and the children’s drawings plastered all over the walls, or the way the waiters automatically bring over learner chopsticks for younger diners. At first glance, the interior looks more like a kindergarten than a restaurant, but don’t let that fool you. The food is delicious and extremely authentic. We strongly recommend the £18 set menu: four courses, plus Korean red rice and a huge spread of panch’an (including tangy sweet pickled radish and some deliciously nutty soy beans in syrup). We loved the variety of flavours and textures – the soft bite of the pork and vegetable dumplings, the slip and slide of the stir-fried glass noodles, the chilli zing of the spicy fried squid, and the fresh crunch of lettuce leaves wrapped around perfectly cooked beef bulgogi. We also rate the service; although most diners are regulars, staff make a real effort to make newcomers feel at home. Now that credit cards are accepted, we really can’t fault this place.

This is a warm and simplistic little canteen-style restaurant. The staff were absolutely lovely and informative regarding the menu (us not being over familiar with Korean!). Each dish was a new surprise and equally as delicious. Particularly the chilli squid, fire-hot cabbage and the fish cakes (the name escapes me now). I'm already looking forward to going back!
