I really loved my dinner out at Salotto. Service was speedy, helpful and friendly so not sure how other reviewers came away so miffed. The food, however, is exceptional. Refined and robust dishes from Milan that you can tell are made from the highest quality ingredients. You can tell a good Italian restaurant because there will be lots of Italian ex-pats eating there. And that was the case here. From the sbagliato cocktail and zucchini matchsticks we had on arrival, i knew it was going to be a great night. Risotto was all it should be, plumped grains embued with flavour - not a mulchy mess drenched in cream and butter. Side dishes were imaginatively done and the location is great too - down a cute little street just down from Pudding Lane. We didn't have puddings, by the way, as the starter and main were generously sized, but they sure did look tempting.

Situated in the heart of the city of London, Salotto brings you the great culinary skills of italian top chef Paolo Parlanti in a striking and elegant interior, whilst on the first floor, Roda allows you to experience the traditional quality of Italian made to measure.

Do not go here unless you have plenty of time, over one hour before the starters arrived and the restaurant was only half full.
The service was terrible; the wrong food coming to the table, the four of us served at different times and at the end of the meal their credit card machine had broken and they expected one of us to go to a bank to withdraw the cash..
