Very poor food and inflated prices. The Pad Thai was dry and tasteless; the papaya salad was flat and without balance; the sauce for the prawns in garlic and pepper was horrible and apparently made with paste rather than fresh. Presumably people only come here because it is in the village and has nice decor.

Located on the High Street in Wimbledon village, Thai Tho is a cosy restaurant renowned for being one of Maria Sharapova’s favourite places to dine during tournaments. A far cry from High Street chain-restaurant dining – Thai Tho has a unique interior and a family-run feel to it and we love the little details such as the intricately carved Buddha statues, jade-coloured plates and colourful flowers which all make you feel very welcome. This is a popular spot in the village and it can be hard to get a table on Friday or Saturday nights but the service, even when busy, is always charming.
